What it's like to be a Support Worker

The role of a Support Worker (also known as a Disability Support Worker or Carer) is a special one.

Our Support Workers provide day-to-day assistance to adults and children living with disability – supporting them to live independently and helping them work toward their goals and discover new passions. Each day is different when your job is to give someone the freedom to live life how they choose, and there’s plenty of fun to be had along the way!

Each of our clients have goals they would like to achieve, which are as diverse as learning to make a delicious meal, going bowling, getting a job, or improving their fitness. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing your clients progress towards their goals. Most of our Support Workers work closely with the same people, so you get to know them well and celebrate their progress.

Whilst many of the adults and children we support need assistance with physical tasks such as getting in and out of bed, showering and getting ready for the day, others may need assistance processing information and accessing the community.

At Home Care Support Workers enjoy flexible and consistent working hours and locations, in a growing industry with full training, 24/7 support and attractive pay rates.
