Government COVID-19 Payments

There is a $320 Test Isolation Payment available for those living and working in WA who have to isolate whilst awaiting the result of a COVID-19 PCR test and are unable to work from home and do not receive paid leave or other income during this time.

In addition, if you or your family is affected by COVID-19 and you are unable to work, you may also be eligible for other Government payments. Visit Services WA to find out more.

Rapid Antigen Tests

In addition to Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests you receive at an accredited testing location, Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) will now also be used as a diagnostic tool for COVID‐19. It is compulsory to register all positive RAT test results.

The WA Government is giving each household 15 free individual Rapid Antigen Tests. Click here to register and have them delivered to you.

Working with close contacts or confirmed cases

The following information will prepare you to provide supports where a client or fellow team member may be a close or confirmed case.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Instruction Videos

Face masks work well to stop the spread of COVID-19, but only if they are put on and removed safely. If you are working with someone who is negative for COVID-19, not a close contact and not displaying any symptoms, you will wear a normal face mask for shifts. If you are working with a positive COVID-19 client, you will be given a specialised respiratory mask.

These videos show how to put on and remove both types of masks safely.

Working with COVID-19 positive clients

If you are providing supports to a client who tests positive for COVID-19, you will be provided with some or all the following personal protective equipment (PPE).

These reference sheets provide guidance on how to wear specialised PPE safely and what to do after use.

House Cleaning and Vehicle Cleaning

Regular cleaning of homes and vehicles is required, but the level of cleaning changes if you are working with someone who is positive for COVID-19 or showing symptoms.
